Welcome to CDF's Galapagos Observation Database

Welcome to the Charles Darwin Foundation's Galapagos Observation Database.

This site is designed to enable tourists, naturalist guides, scientists, and Galapagos National Park rangers to report invasive and introduced species seen during their travels in the Galapagos Islands. This information will enable us to more accurately track the distribution of species and respond more rapidly to new introductions in Galapagos. Currently the site handles reports of invasive and introduced vertebrate species.

How Does It Work?

Tourists, guides, and Park rangers sign up for an account and log on. Once logged on, they are assisted in identifying the species and the location of the siting. The whole process takes about 5 minutes.

We require that users log in with a valid email address. We do this for two reasons. One is to lower the probability of false reports. The second is in case we need to request more information about your siting. Your email address will not be used for any other purpose.

If you are a guide, a Park ranger, a scientist, or a tourist who has recently visited the Galapagos, please sign up for an account.
